Life Challenges

Most experts agree that our nation is now enduring a steep economic downturn causing countless numbers of people to lose their jobs. People who lose jobs often go through a cycle similar to the five stages of grief (denial/isolation, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance) as described by Elisabeth Kubler-Ross. The effects of the grief cycle can include:

  • Loss of sense of belonging (no longer belonging to an organization)
  • Self-doubt
  • Uncertainty about the future
